Controller
The data described here (website, Voxsen account, reports) is processed by the publisher of Voxsen, presented in the legal notice, who can be reached at contact@voxsen.com. It is never sold, nor used for advertising.
On this site
- No ads, no trackers. The only cookie,
voxsen-site-lang, remembers the language you chose (one year); it is only set if you change the language. The language offered by default comes from your browser or from the country of your IP address, looked up on the server itself. - The report and tracking pages keep the numbers of your requests in your browser, so you can find them again; nothing is sent.
- The server keeps technical logs (IP address, requested page, date) for a limited time, for security and to keep the service running.
- When you download the app or a server kit, we record the date, the file, your IP address without its last part, its country, your browser and an anonymous fingerprint of the address, to count downloads.
Reports
The report form sends your message, the attached evidence and, if you give it, your email address so we can answer. This information is used to handle the request and keep a record of it; only the Voxsen team sees it.
Voxsen account
Your Voxsen account (one for all servers) is managed by the Voxsen account service. It keeps your email address, your username, your public profile and your encrypted password (hash). For security and to keep the service running, it also records:
- the date the account was created and the dates of your logins;
- while the app is open, every minute: the app version and the address of the server you are connected to, hence the date of your last login and the time spent on each server;
- the servers you have joined, and important account changes (password, two-factor authentication).
This information contains neither your messages nor your voice conversations. Only the Voxsen team can see it, and it may also suspend an account in case of abuse. It is kept as long as the account exists; you can ask for its deletion at contact@voxsen.com.
In the app
Voxsen is self-hosted: your data on a server (messages, files, reactions, events, roles) is stored only on the Voxsen server you join, administered by its owner. It is not sent to the publisher of Voxsen.
- Email address: used to log in and to receive security messages; it is never shown to other members.
- Voice and video: streamed live between participants through the server, never recorded.
- Files: kept on the server until they are deleted, or until the chosen automatic deletion delay.
On your computer, the app keeps your session (encrypted by Windows) and your settings.
Updates and servers
To check for updates, the app contacts this site and sends technical information: IP address, app version, an anonymous installation identifier (randomly generated, not linked to your account) and the address of the server it is connected to.
A server installed with the kit reports its version and address in the same way and, every minute, the number of people connected (numbers, never names). If it is listed in the directory, its name, description and images are published there.
Providers
- OVH SAS (France) hosts the website, the account service and the official server.
- Resend (Resend, Inc., United States) sends account and report emails (codes, confirmations, answers). It only receives the address and the content of the message; emails are sent from its European Union region (Ireland), and this transfer is covered by its data processing agreement (European Commission standard contractual clauses).
- The country of IP addresses is looked up on the server with DB-IP's IP to Country Lite database: no address is sent to a third party.
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict its use, object to it or receive a copy of it by writing to contact@voxsen.com. For the data on a Voxsen server (messages, files), contact its administrator. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can file a complaint with the CNIL (French data protection authority).
