Install the app
Voxsen is an app for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit). It's free and has no ads.
- Download the installer: voxsen.com/download.
- Run
Voxsen-Setup-….exe. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info then Run anyway: the installer isn't digitally signed yet, which is normal for a young app. - Choose to install just for you (no administrator rights) or for all users of the PC, keep the suggested folder and click Install.
A shortcut is created on the Desktop and in the Start menu. Closing the window minimizes Voxsen to the notification area (next to the clock) so you stay reachable; to really quit, right-click its icon → Quit. This behavior and launching with Windows are set in Settings → Application.
Create your Voxsen account
One Voxsen account works for every server: your username, avatar, bio and banner follow you everywhere. You never create an account server by server.
- On first launch, fill in the New here? part: email address, username and password (at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and a digit).
- Click Create my Voxsen account. You're signed in right away.
Join a server
Each community has its own server. Two ways to join it:
- By its address: type it on the server selection screen (for example
chat.mydomain.comor82.64.10.20:3000). Its name shows up in green when the address is right. Your Voxsen account is all you need: you're added to the server on your first visit. - Through the Community: the compass icon, at the top right, opens the directory of public servers, with search, filters (category, language, region, active voice…), favorites and an info card before you join.
Some servers ask for an entry password: you're asked for it when you enter. The first account that enters a brand-new server becomes its owner (all rights).
To switch servers: click the server name at the top left, or Change server in your settings. Servers you've already visited stay in the list.
Updates
Voxsen updates by itself: the new version downloads in the background and installs on the next launch, without a wizard. After an update, the What's new in Voxsen? window sums up the new features; you can find it any time in Settings → Application.
If the server you use isn't up to date yet, the app waits until it is before installing a new version, so everything stays compatible.
Language and privacy
The app is available in French and English. On first launch it picks the language of your Windows (or of your region); you can change it any time in Settings → Language.
What others see of you (current activity: game, music…) is set in Settings → Activity and privacy: everyone on the server, only your friends, or nobody.
